The first three articles in this issue resulted from a research workshop organized by the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Relations with Russia and the Eastern Neighbourhood that was held on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the European Union’s 2004 enlargement. The workshop addressed political, social, and economic impacts of accession on the acceding countries. In addition, the issue includes an article assessing the EU's soft power influence in Ukraine between the Orange Revolution and the Euromaidan.
The workshop and production of this issue were co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
